"Postari" is especially intended for those who want learn more about stamp-collecting but do not have a stamp club in their home town or village. In other words, Postari/SFC is a nation-wide club for the youngest collectors.
The Federation organizes activities for young collectors in connection with major stamp exhibitions and other related events. For example, every autumn we participate in the annual Stamp Fair at Fair Centre in Helsinki. Our stand features adventure tracks, computer games and competitions, among other things. Come and meet us there! The next fair will be held from 28 October to 30 October 2005.

The above-mentioned two magazines are published in Finnish. Even if you do not know our
language, you might like to put in a pen
friend advertisement and thereby find yourself exchange partners in Finland. Please
remember that Finland has two official languages - Finnish and Swedish - but generally,
Finns have a relatively good knowledge of English and, to a lesser extent, German, French
and Russian. The Youth Philatelic Federation of Finland cannot assume any responsibility

The Federation offers different types of training, covering almost any aspect of stamp collecting. For example, we help new local associations to get established, train youth instructors, give instruction in collection-building and provide materials for local associations. Those who successfully participate in training activities will receive a badge for their skills, and those with quite advanced merits may receive a special award (VVV medal).
Furthermore, our summer camp is already a tradition and the annual highlight for young collectors. Youngsters from all parts of Finland gather together for a week to enjoy Finnish summer in camps.
Stamp-collecting is a very international hobby in many ways, and the Federation
supports Finnish collectors who participate in international exhibitions with their
collections. Co-operation between the Nordic countries is fostered within SNU
(Samarbetsorganet för Nordisk Ungdomsfilateli). Every year young collectors from all
Nordic countries meet at an international exhibition, get to know each other and support
their national teams participating in a quiz.
There are now preliminary plans to arrange similar meetings in the Czech Republic, Austria and the Netherlands in 2003-2004. For the time being, these events are planned and funded on an ad hoc basis, but it could be worthwhile to explore possibilities of co-financing such activities by cultural or youth programmes provided by EU, for example.
In August 2002 Polish kept A European meeting of young stamp collectors in Opole. Finland was also represented in this meeting.
